Erika Girardi of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reportedly part of Dancing with the Stars season 24

Consider this to be news worth dancing about — there’s an Erika Girardi – Dancing with the Stars surprise today that we certainly didn’t see coming.

As first reported by E! News, the star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and dance music artist is going to be a part of the season 24 cast, and she joins such other heavily-rumored names as Nancy Kerrigan, Simone Biles, Mr. T, and Nick Viall of The Bachelor. To date, we actually rather love the cast for the show if the names turn out to be true. There are a lot of fun personalities on it, and we’ve actually heard of everyone who is taking part. Given that we work in this industry, there’s always a part of us that is frustrated when the show books someone that we’ve never heard of. It’s almost like they’re challenging us in some way.

What Girardi brings to the table is a tremendous amount of fun, some dance talent thanks potentially to her music, and an opportunity to be the first Real Housewives star to go all the way to the end. This show doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to stars of the Bravo franchise making it far; even Lisa Vanderpump, someone else we thought was a huge personality, was eliminated fairly early.

Probably the biggest curiosity when it comes to the Girardi casting is how much her alter ego of Erika Jayne can even come out in the ballroom. While she’s fun and crazy, we’re not quite sure much of what Erika Jayne brings to the table is family viewing. This could teach her to further adapt as an entertainer, and not just as a dancer.
