‘Billions’ season 2, episode 2 preview: Rhoades faces off with the Attorney General
How badly does Chuck Rhoades want to keep his job? Very badly we’d say, which is why moving into the next new episode of “Billions,” we are going to see this character do everything that he can to fend off the Attorney General, and everyone else in the process who could be coming for him. This is going to be tough, mostly because of the fact that he’s such a big, public figure — in other words, he’s put away so many people that plenty of them are going to do what they can in order to try and take him down a notch.

Synopsis – “Axe publicly spars with a rival hedge fund manager and with the help of a talented intern initiates a new financial play to hurt the competition. Meanwhile, Chuck deploys his team to quickly find a high-profile case that might save his sinking status; and Wendy navigates a minefield of questioning that could result in disaster for Chuck.”
We gotta say that for Showtime, that’s actually quite a bit to share! Kudos to them for not being shy and giving us a great sense of some of what could be coming up next. Beyond that, Chuck’s probably going to rely a little too much on thinking that this case can solve his problems, not focusing enough on some of the other issues that could be coming his way.
The promo specifically features Axe putting him firmly in his crosshairs, and making it clear that he will take him down by ANY means necessary. We’re inclined to believe him, largely because of the fact that he got the money that he has by using the same strategy. He’s a ruthless, cutthroat guy, and there are very few rules that terrify him.
