‘Bones’ season 12, episode 8 preview: How Booth, Brennan cope with death
While there have been many episodes of “Bones” season 12 to date that we’ve found to be especially fun and entertaining, the reality here still is that this is a series where there are some dark, depressing things that can happen. There are also just some sad events that are a part of life. This is something that could be a theme for the next new installment of the show entitled “The Grief and the Girl,” which is a slight change from the average title given that there is often a preposition rather than a conjunction thrown in there (just to give you a little bit of “Schoolhouse Rock” for the day).
The synopsis below gives you a good sense of what we’re talking about, as we’re going to see both Booth and Brennan struggle with a difficult event that has taken place in their lives — one that you’re going to find out more about on tonight’s episode, but we’re not spoiling just yet for the sake of those of you who haven’t watched the episode just yet.
Synopsis – “A recent loss creates a rift between Booth and Brennan, as they deal with their grief in different ways. Meanwhile, an old flame (guest star Eddie McClintock) from Brennan’s past comes to visit.”
The appearance of the former “Warehouse 13” star McClintock on the show should prove to be very fun, given that Sully was someone who Brennan did have some feelings for back during the early years on the show. The main thing that divided them up was that his feelings for her were on a very different level than her feelings for him. We don’t see Bones leaving her husband anytime soon, but it should prove interesting to see where Sully is now at this stage of his life.
(Warning: Spoilers from tonight’s episode lie ahead.)
Promo – The relationship between Booth and Brennan will be in some jeopardy, with one of the reasons for that being that she is in the process of mourning her late father. Sully is arriving at an interesting time, but we don’t buy that too many old feelings are going to come up.
