‘The Fosters’ season 4, episode 14 preview: The struggles ahead for Jesus
On paper, you do probably get the sense that the Adams Foster family at the center of Freeform’s “The Fosters” is a group of loving people who do probably care about each other rather deeply. Therefore, you want to believe to the best of your ability that they are on the same page with one another all the time.
Unfortunately, that just doesn’t happen. Mariana had a secret about taking Jesus’ ADHD medication, Callie had a secret relationship with Brandon, and Brandon has now made it clear that he is not going to be going to Julliard because of his SAT test scandal. All of this will culminate on next week’s new episode, as Stef determines that the best way to force her children to tell her what’s going on in life is to make it almost impossible for them to have any privacy.
Synopsis – “After Brandon confesses to Stef that he didn’t get into Juilliard, she decides she’s fed up with all of the kids’ secrets and removes their bedroom doors. Mariana starts seeing a therapist to deal with the trauma of Nick’s actions.
“While Jesus struggles with physical therapy, Brandon realizes that music might be a good way to help get through to him. Callie’s biological father Robert (guest star Kerr Smith, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D,” “Dawson’s Creek”) brings in his highly paid attorneys to handle Callie’s case, which causes a conflict with Stef and Lena.”
Is this terribly intrusive? Absolutely it is, but at the same time we get 120% where Stef is coming from here given that this is something that she is going to feel as though she’s getting shut out. She wants to be there for her kids, but they need to realize that their lives will be significantly better if she allows them to be there for her. They don’t seem all that great at doing that as of late.
As for Callie’s story, we can easily see Robert’s high-powered lawyers leading to some disasters. Yet, they could be necessary for Callie in adult court.
Promo – This makes one other part of the episode clear: We are going to be seeing Jesus trying to recover from his accident at home, but it’s going to be far more difficult than anyone thought.
