‘Arrow’ season 5, episode 12 preview: Oliver Queen heads back to Russia in ‘Bratva’

Arrow -

For everyone out there who’s been eager to see precisely how Oliver Queen’s stories in the past and present are going to intersect on “Arrow” this season, next week’s new episode entitled “Bratva” will be the key. This is going to offer up an opportunity to see a present-day version of Anatoly, and maybe in the process of being back there, you’re going to get a chance to also see a little bit of clue-hunting being done when it comes to Prometheus. At the very least, this person knows that Oliver was in Russia at one point, and that is one of the bigger clues that is out there. (At this point, you really do have to take any clues that you can get.)

Even though Oliver and some other characters are going to be heading to another continent, don’t take that as a firm sign that the remainder of the cast is going to be joining them. Captain Lance in particular is going to be back in Star City, and he could have a little bit of help in an effort to keep things from going awry when it comes to a key interview.

Synopsis – “A mission takes Oliver (Stephen Amell), Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and team to Russia where they meet up with Oliver’s old friend, Anatoly (guest star David Nykl). Meanwhile, fresh out of rehab, Lance (Paul Blackthorne) returns to the mayor’s office ready to get back to work. However, when Susan (guest star Carly Pope) asks for an interview with Lance to discuss his addiction, he balks and it’s up to Rene (guest star Rick Gonzalez) to help keep things on track.”

We hope things work out for Lance and Rene, but there’s something rather ridiculous / potentially fun about someone who is absolutely terrible when it comes to following orders being the guy who helps Quentin and the interview stay under control.

Promo – This promo makes it clear that Tina, a.k.a. Dinah Drake, is going to be heading with Oliver overseas to Russia. From there, things are going to be getting all the more complicated. Is this the same world Oliver remembers?
