‘How to Get Away with Murder’ season 3, episode 10: Who (possibly) killed Wes?
The winter premiere of “How to Get Away with Murder” has now come and gone, and we certainly did not expect to see an answer to the question of who killed Wes so soon. Yet, at the same time, it’s fair to ask coming out of this episode as to whether or not we really have found the killer at all.
The big moment came in the closing minutes, where we ultimately saw Frank go in and confess to taking the guy out. On the surface, this shouldn’t be a surprise since we know that Frank has killed before. He’s by far the most dangerous out of any of the series regulars on the show. It’s for that reason that our first reaction to this news is that this is FAR too early in order to resolve this story.
The main question that you have to wonder is precisely what the plan here for him really is. Does he want Annalise to be free, or is there something else, something larger at the heart of what he is doing? Annalise is not the kind of person that too many people want to help — she’s already stuck in prison without bail simply because of the amount of skill that she has getting herself out of really tricky situations.
One other part of this mystery that makes things are the more complex is the prosecution doing their part to argue that Wes died directly as a result of the fire, rather than some other mysterious circumstance. This contradicts much of what they’ve been saying, so with that comes a conundrum. Why could they be trying to hide something to make this case a little more simple than it actually is?
It was a nice touch to get a few more scenes featuring Alfred Enoch in this episode. It’s hard to say if there will be closure beyond this, but at least the last memory was have from him on the show is something different from him dying.
