‘Madam Secretary’ season 3, episode 13: Operation peace treaty
Let’s begin this particular “Madam Secretary” season 3 article with a sad reminder for many out there: There is no new episode coming on CBS tonight. With the network airing the AFC Championship Game between the New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers, you will have to wait to see “The Beautiful Game” come on the air until we roll around to Sunday, January 29.
Hopefully, we can offer up enough scattered details on this story within this article to help ease the waiting process, beginning with the photo above. This image features Elizabeth McCord (Tea Leoni) speaking with Jay Whitman (Sebastian Arcelus), two people responsible for trying to broker a peace deal between Israel and Iran. They’ve done great work, but their entire operation could be jeopardized in this episode due to the death of a rabbi at a soccer match between the two countries, one that was meant to represent peace and harmony. Suffice it to say, these characters are going to have their work cut out for them trying to repair the situation. The photo above for the episode does certainly seem as though they are in the middle of some sort of important discussion, one seemingly being had in the middle of the woods.
As for what else is coming during this episode, be prepared to see Elizabeth being considered for one of the highest honors in the world in the Nobel Peace Prize, which we imagine she would wrestle with a great deal. In one way, it’s an honor to be considered for such a thing in the first place. However, at the same time we could see her struggling with the concept of whether or not she’s done enough, much as many other potential recipients have over the years. In so many ways that is actually a testament to the people who do deserve this sort of recognition. They are the ones who realize the magnitude of the honor, but also that it means nothing in comparison to the people that they help. Knowing Bess, that will remain her top priority no matter what is decided.
Finally, one other thing to look out for in this episode when it does air is a great story for Daisy as she finds herself connected to a new colleague at work.
