‘Scorpion’ season 3 spoilers: Is a three-part story coming to close the season?

For those of you out there who prefer “Scorpion” when it is a little bit more serialized, we do come bearing some great news: You’re going to have a chance to see that play out more as we get closer to the end of the third season.

Speaking to TVLine, Eddie Kaye Thomas made it clear that as we get further and further along this season, we are going to see the characters of Happy and Toby potentially get closer to a wedding — but due to everything else that is going on, there may be some bumps in the road that keep it from happening:

“We wouldn’t be a TV show without roadblocks … But they’ve got some really good stuff planned for the end of the season. The last three episodes will be one long story. It’s something I knew we would eventually do, and it involves the Happy/Toby thing, and then the whole gang gets involved. It’s going to be very exciting.”

Doing what seems to be a three-part finale is an exciting idea for a show that often tends to be procedural, and seeing us take some sort of journey that involves these characters is easily something worth getting behind. While we don’t know one way or another if the wedding will happen this season, that matters to us a little bit less than simply seeing some exciting developments and interesting twists and turns.

Who knows? Maybe at some point over these final episodes we’ll also get a chance to see some other romance in the air, as well! Paige and Walter have been playing the “will they or won’t they?” game for a little while not, and while they have had a few nice moments recently, they still have a ways to go before we can imagine them actually together … even though it would be fun, and precisely the sort of relationship that would be good for Ralph.
