‘Dancing with the Stars’ season 24 premiere date revealed; Len Goodman returning; Julianne Hough’s future unclear

Dancing with the Stars

For those wondering when you are going to be returning to the ballroom for another season of “Dancing with the Stars,” we are very much pleased to have some sort of a firm answer for you: Monday, March 20. This was first confirmed in a report over at Glamour, and nobody should be altogether surprised by this given that this is around when the majority of the seasons start for the show. It begins in March, and then tends to run into close to the end of May before the new season of “The Bachelorette” airs. What really remains the most remarkable thing to us is constantly how they can get the new “Bachelorette” season ready in such a short period of time, given that they don’t tend to start filming it until a few days after the “Bachelor” finale airs.

As for the judges, executive producer Rob Wade confirmed to the site that Len Goodman would be back, despite him exiting “Strictly Come Dancing” at the end of the Christmas Special. Len has said in some other interviews that he has another year left on his contract, so maybe he will stay until the fall and the depart; the only other option is that he signs a new contract, but it’s hard to get too much into that at present. (Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli are also planning to return.)

Unfortunately, there is no official call yet on fellow judge Julianne Hough. Wade notes that she does have a day off in her schedule where she could do the show on Mondays, but nothing is official there as of yet. Her brother Derek is already departing to do “World of Dance” for NBC, but this has no bearing on her participation here.

We imagine that many of the first cast rumors will be coming out come the middle to end of next month, and we firmly expect current “Bachelor” star Nick Viall to be near the top of the list. He’s already expressed an interest in doing the show, and given that this show tends to draw even stronger ratings than “Dancing with the Stars,” it makes sense that they would want him to take part so long as America still loves him by the end of this nonsense.
