‘Pure Genius’ episode 12 preview: We near the finale with ‘I Got This’

Do you find yourself still enjoying “Pure Genius” on CBS? This is a show with a considerable amount to like, but it’s also a show somewhat under the gun as we get into its final episodes on the air. There are only two more before we arrive to the end of the road for the season, and potentially longer depending on what the network decides. The good news is that the ratings are steady, so the future here could end up depending heavily on what happens with the rest of the schedule this spring.

“I Got This” is the title for the next new installment, and you don’t have to wait any longer to get some of the preliminary details as to what’s going to be coming up there.

Synopsis – “Talaikha and Malik treat Georgia Ray (Lindsey Gort), one of the world’s biggest pop stars and friend of James’s, for laryngeal cancer, but when gold particles and microsurgery reveal more cancer than expected, they incur the singer’s wrath when her vocal chords and career are threatened. Also, Angie’s mother reluctantly sees Scott as a patient when she thinks she may be ill, and James is discouraged when he thinks Louis Keating’s GSS is getting worse.”

For those of you who recognize Gort’s name, the reason for that may be because of her work as Samantha Jones on “The Carrie Diaries.”

Promo – This is … interesting. We definitely like to give you a little bit more information in these sort of promos, but we see that the strategy instead for CBS here seems to be playing things general. They are trying to recruit more viewers while at the same time fans of the show simply want to know what’s coming up next.
