‘Good Behavior’ season 2: Co-creator already has plan in place

For all fans of “Good Behavior,” the bad news is that we’re still waiting to see what TNT is going to decide to do with the Michelle Dockery series. The finale aired earlier tonight, and while it accomplished quite a bit in terms of Letty and Javier, of course you want to believe that there is so much more to this story.

For co-creator Chad Hodge, we definitely get the sense that he is looking to the future. Speaking in a postmortem for Yahoo! TV, he confirms that there are already ideas planned out in their entirety for what a second season would look like:

“We don’t have an official pickup yet, but we spent time in the writer’s room planning what would happen. Just like we had the whole first season mapped out, we have the whole second season now mapped out, so hopefully we get a pickup and we can continue telling the story.”

This, dear friends, is what we like to call commitment to telling a story, and making a case for a network to do the right thing and give you another shot. We like to think that with cable in particular, you need to give a show two seasons to really get its feet out from under it. If you look back to shows like “Breaking Bad” and “Mad Men,” they weren’t exactly ratings monsters during their first go-around on the air. To use a network TV example, “Scandal” wasn’t necessarily a runaway hit during season 1. Sometimes, you need to just have the time to find your audience, and in developing the second season early, you’re letting the network know that you have a plan and aren’t going to be messing around in the execution of it.

TNT likely will have a little bit of time now to decide on the future of the show; the best thing that you can do in the interim is keep the discussion going! Use the hashtag with the fancy emoji attached to it, comment across the internet, and make sure to hit up TNT’s social channels in particular to let them know you enjoy the show. Also, recommend it to your friends who may not have been aware it was on.
