Ratings: ‘The Bachelor’ almost doubles ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’; ‘The Odd Couple’ even
Given that last night was a fairly quiet one thanks to the NCAA National Championship Game, there isn’t all that much to write about when it comes to the ratings. Still, there are four specific shows that are worth highlighting.
“The Bachelor” – Easily the #1 show of the night with a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic. This is a show that held on to almost its entire premiere audience, and that bodes well moving forward. We have seen this franchise draw even bigger ratings moving forward, so we’ll have to see if that happens as the weeks go on and it starts to become all the more controversial.
“The Celebrity Apprentice” – With just a 1.1 rating, the show lost some steam from its premiere, and is promptly in the process going to draw some more snark from President-elect Donald Trump on Twitter. We get it, Donald: The show had better ratings when you were host. Also, your antics since then are probably one of the reasons why the ratings are down.
“The Odd Couple” – The series held firm with a 1.0, which isn’t all that bad given that there were no other new episodes around it on CBS. Still, that’s not going to change the idea that this show is likely going to be canceled by the time we roll around to the end of the spring.
“Big Fan” – ABC attempted to launch this new show with Andy Richter following “The Bachelor,” and the ratings were just as poor as many other things that have tried to take advantage of that lead-in. By the second episode, the show with a 0.7 was behind a repeat of “The Wall” with a 0.8. Maybe “Quantico” a little later this month can turn things around, but as of now we’re starting to feel like the network could be making a whole lot more of this timeslot than they are.
