‘This Is Us’ episode 11: Reflect, look forward before ‘The Right Thing to Do’ airs (video)
Through the entirety of the fall, there was a clear consensus when it comes to “This Is Us” on NBC: This was one of the best shows on the air. It was funny at times, heartfelt at others, and it made you feel for its characters and relate to them in ways that you would not have imagined.
Now, we’re less than 24 hours away from the journey beginning again. There is a new episode entitled “The Right Thing to Do” airing on NBC Tuesday night, and the promo below offers you up a chance to do almost everything that you could possibly want. There are opportunities in here to reflect and look back on the journey that got you to this point, just as there are also some opportunities for you to be able to look ahead. The first half of it gets you to the point we’re at now, and then we get a tease ahead at the hope and fear to come.
Tuesday’s episode (which, for the record, is airing at 10:00 p.m. Eastern due to President Obama’s final address to the nation) is going to give you even more of the story of what life was like for Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) and Rebecca (Mandy Moore) before the arrival of their triplets, and how they were going to figure out a way to care for all of them.
While it is not shown in the preview, Tuesday’s episode is also going to bring you some sort of further information (and possibly) closure on the subject of precisely what happened to Toby (Chris Sullivan), who suffered a heart attack in the winter finale. The fact that it was Christmas only further accents the sort of pain that we’re feeling over this.
