‘Masterchef Celebrity Showdown’, Rose Bowl, parade, ‘The Bachelor’ RuPaul on ‘2 Broke Girls’
It’s January 2, 2017, and the TV remote will be expecting a serious workout on Monday. Not only will new programming be part of the day, there are some great TV events today that can’t be missed. Yes, I’m talking about The 128th Tournament of Roses Parade. This annual tradition is awesome to watch on TV. The colorful flowers are powerful visual aspects of this parade. And if that’s not enough, I’ll be waving from the curb at every TV camera possible with my little sign that reads “Rose Bowl Parade Rules” (watch for me if you tune into NBC, ABC or HGTV.)
Thinking you’d rather watch college ball and leave the flowers to others? I get you! Watch the Rose Bowl at 5 p.m. (EST) on ESPN. I’ll be there too! I promise if the camera pans my direction, you won’t miss my painted face as I cheer on the USC Trojans who are playing against Penn State!
Put up your pans! Time for ‘MasterChef Celebrity Showdown’
Gordon Ramsay’s culinary competition, “MasterChef Celebrity Showdown” is going to offer up some famous faces making a few good dishes. Well, let’s be honest, viewers really hope someone slips up because it’s downright hilarious to hear Ramsay’s mouth go off. So who am I pulling for? Anthony Anderson. The man seems unstoppable and always fun to watch. Fox 8 p.m.
Nick Viall readies to offer a rose on ‘The Bachelor’
Nick Viall is about to find true love. Let the search begin as “The Bachelor” kicks off with a tech salesman looking for his next mate. I’m always rooting for the bachelor when it comes to these reality shows. And the women? Well, the contestants on this show don’t always represent the female population in the best light. The idea of putting these uniquely desperate ladies all in one home is why the viewers are tuning in every week. “The Bachelor” is on ABC at 8 p.m.
Arnold Schwarzenegger is now in the boardroom
Arnold Schwarzenegger is in the boardroom for “The New Celebrity Apprentice.” Before you even think of complaining about Arnold as the new man for the job, let’s just reflect on who was in the boardroom last. Yes, it’s good to see a new season of competitors and the former governor of California. This year the show is promising some action in the boardroom and viewers can hardly wait to see what happens. Maybe one of the competitors will get the chance to cruise in one of Arnold’s military tanks. Oh, didn’t you know that’s what this new man in the boardroom collects? Catch the show tonight on NBC at 8 p.m.
RuPaul guest stars on ‘2 Broke Girls’
There is a reason to watch “2 Broke Girls” tonight and it has everything to do with the guest star. RuPaul will be on the episode. Unfortunately I don’t watch this show often enough, but knowing RuPaul is around has me setting the DVR because I know it will be good. See RuPaul in “2 Broke Girls” at 9 p.m. on CBS
And Finally…I’ve got a confession
Yes, I’ve got a confession. Most TV fans can relate to my inner delight. I am SUPER happy the new TV episodes are coming back. Patiently I waited over the holidays and tried to celebrate as required with friends, families and people in general. Yet, nothing beats hanging with your favorite characters and watching new stories come to life. My remote batteries are changed, I’ve bought microwave popcorn and I’ve practiced putting my phone on “airplane mode” to avoid calls. Bring on the new episodes for 2017. The TV fans are ready!
