‘Scorpion’ season 3 spoilers: Can Walter start to win Paige back over?

Mrs. Carter: Is there any hope at all for Walter and Paige on “Scorpion“?

At the end of the first part of this season, what we saw for these two characters was some unsurprising conflict. After all, It would be understandable if she blames him for the departure of her boyfriend Tim, given that he made him feel small and insignificant the moment it became clear that he was going to be sticking around the team full-time. He did try to get on better terms with him later, but at that point Paige had already told him that being a part of Team Scorpion was really only going to hold him back. He’s best as a team leader, and she didn’t want to get in the way of him being able to do that.

In speaking to TVLine, executive producer Nick Wootton had the following to say about the state of the relationship between Walter and Paige in the early going starting on Monday night’s new episode — and also how he may be able to win her back over time as we get closer to the end of the episode:

“Paige is furious at first … Walter, meanwhile, feels terrible about the whole Tim thing and tries to be sweet and kind to Paige with the purest of intentions … Eventually, Paige realizes that if Walter is going to make any emotional headway, she needs to follow advice that her mom gave her. And when [Walter] is trying to be kind to her without any ulterior motives, interesting developments arise.”

We do think that the show is ultimately invested in the Walter / Paige story, and not so much the Walter / Tim story … even if he is a nice guy. Therefore, we have to imagine that at some point moving forward this season, we’ll get a chance to see them discuss their feelings … and maybe more? Fingers crossed.
