‘Pitbull’s New Year’s Revolution’: Tone Loc, Biz Markie, Naughty By Nature performing
The longer that “Pitbull’s New Year’s Revolution” exists as a television special on New Year’s Eve, the more that we get a sense that he and the folks behind the scenes start to get more of an understanding as to precisely what this special should be, and precisely what it should appeal to. It’s catering to a different market than what either NBC or ABC is doing, and as a result of that, the lineup really should be catered accordingly.
So who is going to be a part of the show this year when it airs at 11:00 p.m. Eastern on Fox? Think along the lines of Biz Markie, Coolio, Naughty By Nature, Rob Base, Salt-N-Pepa, Tone Loc and Young MC. It’s a pretty good mix here of industry icons and up-and-comers, and it should give the entire Miami-set event a nice bit of Latin flavor.
As for who is set to host the show this year, Pitbull is going to be joined by Queen Latifah and Snoop Dogg, which should serve to give the entire event even more flair, and a little bit of fun. You’re going to have a good time just about on any occasion in which Snoop is involved; meanwhile, Latifah is currently one of the main cast members on Fox’s “Star,” so there is a little bit of cross-promotion there with that. Think of this as the New Year’s Eve version of the “Taraji’s White Hot Holidays” special that we got a little bit earlier in the year.
If you’re into music, you’ve at least got a wide array of great options tonight courtesy of what this network, plus ABC and NBC, are up to. Meanwhile, if you’re more looking for a mixture of comedy and news, odds are that CNN is going to be your prime destination.
