‘Will & Grace’ may have ten-episode revival, per actor Leslie Jordan
Are we really going to see more of “Will & Grace” on the air in the new year? We know that the revival is something that has been talked about for much of 2016, so it only makes sense that we start to wrap up the year with the news that it is closer to happening than ever — though we would not call this official just yet.
Speaking to KPBS, actor Leslie Jordan, who played Beverley Leslie for ten episodes during the show’s run, made it clear that the revival is going to be happening; not only that, but he said that it is going to run for ten episodes and start filming in July.
Note that none of this information has for the time being been confirmed, but the response that we’d have to that is rather simple: Why would Jordan say this if there wasn’t some truth to it? Maybe there’s not a fire just yet, but there’s at the very least smoke and it’s something being heavily discussed. While the cast is certainly busy, one thing going for them is that many of them are not so locked into other series right now that they would be blocked from having the time to do this.
As for whether or not we see a new version of the show working, the answer is a clear yes — at least at first. Shows like “Girl Meets World” and “Fuller House” have proven that nostalgia can be incredibly popular. The trick for the most part seems to be finding a way to sustain them. Ratings for “Fuller House” are reportedly down significantly from season 1, even though the show was renewed for a third season. Meanwhile, it’s possible that the end of the road could be here for “Girl Meets World,” as the folks over at the Disney Channel have not announced one way or another if the show is going to be coming back for more.
We’ll keep watch on this story to see if it is eventually verified down the road by anyone over at NBC. For now, stay tuned, and tell us in the comments if a revival is something that you would like to see happen! (Photo: NBC.)
