‘Scorpion’ season 3, episode 12 video: Life without Tim

At the end of this past episode of “Scorpion” on CBS, we saw the departure — at least for now — of one of the team’s recent members in Tim Armstrong. Provided that his relationship with Paige lasts, maybe he does come back to California eventually to spend more time with her and Ralph.

For the time being, everyone is in the state of moving forward, and that is for the most part what the sneak peek below from Monday’s new episode is all about. Sylvester cautions everyone that Tim was a valuable source of missions for the team, but them Walter O’Brien counters by saying that everyone holds a similar level of value. Every component in one way or another can be replaced, which is a pretty depressing thing for him to say — even if it may be true at the same time. These are all people who, in one way or another, don’t necessarily have a whole lot of permanence in this field if they leave.

Do we think of Walter’s comments as a warning to anyone else? Not exactly, given the fact that the show is probably going to keep the majority of its core cast together for some time. They have a nice mixture of personalities, and we also get the sense that this particular group of geniuses gets along well.

While there are some funny moments within this sneak peek, we do feel that its primary purpose more than anything else is to serve almost as a transition, and a way to bring us from where we are right now with the show to where we are going next. While Tim may not have been a terrible guy, it’s clear from the fan community online that the majority of “Scorpion” viewers are Walter / Paige fans and are looking to see these characters get together more in the end.
