‘Good Behavior’ ratings: Is Michelle Dockery’s TNT drama on way to season 2 renewal?
Over the past several weeks, we’ve had many opportunities to start to discuss further the fate of a few different cable series when it comes to their ratings, and there are a few out there that we feel are still very much up in the air in terms of their future. For the time being “Good Behavior” on TNT is one of these such shows.
Going into the start of the first season, it was pretty understandable to have a sense of overall optimism that this show would be a huge hit. For one, you had a chance to see Michelle Dockery in her first TV role since “Downton Abbey,” and as a character in Letty who, thanks to her past as a con artist, can morph into a wide array of different people. All of this sounds intriguing, but the show suffered somewhat thanks first and foremost to airing in the midst of a crowded fall, and we do personally believe that there are probably some people out there who don’t have much in terms of an idea that the show is even on.
To date, what we’re seeing from this show is an average of a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic to go along with almost 700,000 total viewers. In what is likely a sign that heavy competition has been a factor in the show’s overall performance, the most-recent episode of the show drew over 900,000 viewers for the first time, the strongest rating by a rather larger margin.
With that in mind alone, it does make us think that the show should get another chance to come on the air, but with a schedule that is structured a little bit more like a “Major Crimes” or a fellow new TNT series in “Animal Kingdom,” which aired earlier this year and generated a 0.4 rating. Had it received a similar summer spot, it may be doing a tad better.
If we were to compare “Good Behavior” to some other fall cable shows, it is performing better than USA’s “Falling Water” (another show currently in limbo) but below the network’s “Shooter,” which was already renewed.

Good Behavior is a breath of fresh air in a season of a lot of junk. We look forward to watching it every week and certainly hope it is renewed.

I totally agree! I love Good Behavior. I can’t get enough and hate it is ending so soon. I love the suspense, mystery, witty, sometimes snarky dialogue, and lust/love between the two main characters. I would say the first two-three episodes were stronger as a whole than say the last two (I have not seen the season finale. That is what I am watching next. I can’t imagine TNT not getting it for eason two. It is an incredible show. #entertainment

I do not concur with the previous comment (slow as molasses.) This show is unlike any other. The writing is poetic and full of nuances. The photography is stunning and the cast is brilliant. Everyone I talked with at holiday parties has literally dvr’d this and looks forward to watching but due to the timing has yet to dive in. I would hope TNT gives this another season.
If this compelling series doesn’t the make it, it would be due to poor premiere timing and lack of advertising. Why make such an investment in a series (I.e., Dockery and production budget) and fall short on the promo? Also it seems they got a late start on the social media campaign IMO. Did we not learn anything from @therealtrump ha ha? Perhaps they should have enlisted the agency that promoted their prime time network competitor “This is us” which ironicically secured 30 sec spots during GB’s commercial breaks.

Wow, you must have missed the no less than 6 times TNT promotes it every hour or that it showd up in FB feeds. How about the massive promo on Youtube and TNT’s FB page??? Thete are youtube videos that have 100k views that don’t convert to additional viewers. You are in the minority with viewers who have watched them and decided the show just ain’t worth it.
We wish Major Crimes got the promo that this show and AK get. Yet, both shows continue to be colassal failures even with all the attention given to them. As I said though, I stand with it is a Reilly pet project, so given his history, they will have to get rid of him to get rid of his shows.

It is a Reilly pet project. It is guaranteed a season 2. Forget the show is slow as molasses with the boredom to match. Took me 3 hours to get through each of the episodes due to the speed of the storyline that couldn’t hold my interest. I disagree that the competition was the only thing holding this show back. Gotta say that i thought Sharon Beck was a POS mother, but Letty’s mother makes her look like mother of the year.
Meanwhile, we still wait for the MC S6 renewal.

This show is dynamite. The two lead actors have sizzling chemistry. Couldn’t get into Animal Kingdom.
