‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ video: Arnold Schwarzenegger talks new season, Donald Trump on ‘Today’
The new season of “The Celebrity Apprentice” is going to be coming on NBC early next month, and with that, of course there are a few different things that you could want to see. For example, Arnold Schwarzenegger has to figure out a new catch-phrase, how to handle the craziness in the boardroom, and a whole lot of other drama.
Here’s the awkward thing about the show to us: This show actually filmed many months ago, long before it was clear that Donald Trump (who is still an executive producer on the series) would be the President. Therefore, we imagine that it will be somewhat weird seeing the show play out in this odd, somewhat-separated environment.
The video interview below comes courtesy of “The Today Show,” and there is a certain degree of awkwardness that comes out of it given that you do have Arnold talking about Trump still being in the credits, even if he has almost nothing else to do with the show altogether. He also makes it clear why he didn’t support Trump out of the Republican contenders (he campaigned instead for John Kasich), but has a different philosophy with him now as President-elect.
While we don’t give Matt Lauer nearly as much grief as some other people do, we do wonder why in the world he even bothered asking Schwarzenegger a question about Donald potentially calling up the former California Governor midway through the season with notes. Doesn’t he know that this show, which airs on his network, filmed many months ago?
We’ve already said that we’re going to ignore almost everything political with this show whatsoever, mostly because of the fact that it’s just stupid entertainment not meant to be taken seriously. After all, we’re talking about Snooki and Vince Neil here!
