NBC Midseason Schedule: ‘Chicago Justice,’ ‘The Blacklist: Redemption,’ and other premiere dates

After a great deal of waiting, NBC today finally lifted the veil on their upcoming midseason lineup — and in the process, confirmed some things that are certainly exciting (even if it means waiting for them for a long time in some instances).

“Chicago Justice” – We’ve been hoping for the show to launch in January based off of previous whispers, but instead it will be premiering on Sunday, March 5 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. It will be a part of a lineup that also includes the premiere of “Little Big Shots” to go along with season of the Jennifer Lopez series “Shades of Blue.”

“The Blacklist: Redemption” – It’s going to be all “Blacklist,” all the time based on some of what we’re seeing. The spin-off, which stars Ryan Eggold and Famke Janssen, will premiere on Thursday, February 23 in the same 10:00 p.m. Thursday timeslot, and air there for eight weeks. “The Blacklist” proper will return in late April to begin airing its final episodes of the season.

“Powerless” – The comic book inspired series, about real people trying to live and work in a world with superheroes, will begin on February 2 at 8:30 p.m., taking the spot of “The Good Place” after that comedy comes off of the air.

“Trial & Error” – For those of you who are particularly excited (much as we are) to see the return of John Lithgow to TV, know that this show is going to be premiering on Tuesday, March 7 at 9:30 p.m. Eastern, one week after “This Is Us” wraps up its first season. Following, the show will air two episodes at 9:00 p.m. for the remainder of its run. Starting on April 25, the upcoming comedy “Great News” (executive-produced by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock) will be premiering in the same spot and with the same two-episode format.
