‘Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X’ finale preview: The fight to the finish

David -

Tonight, “Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X” set itself up for a heck of an exciting conclusion by eliminating two people from the game in Will and Sunday who, for the most part, didn’t have a ton of screen time this season. This means that we’re being set up next week for what should be a real clash of the titans.

Who would’ve thought that we’d still have David, Ken, Bret, Jay, Hannah, and Adam all still in the game? This has to be one of the better final sixes that we’ve ever seen on the show, though at the same time there are some more threatening than others. For example, David wins probably over anyone if he makes it to the end of the game, though Adam’s also getting to the point where he has a good argument and Hannah in particular has pulled a lot of strings behind the scenes. She just may be a little too subtle about it. We think that Ken probably has the smallest chance of winning — even with that Legacy Advantage in mind — while Bret is probably in second-to-last place when it comes to winner odds given his relative lack of air time. (For the record, we do love Bret and would be more than happy if he does win.)

In the preview that we saw tonight for the finale, one of the biggest things that we saw was David creating a fake immunity idol to try to save his own life in the game moving forward; the challenges are more important than ever, as well, since it is easily still possible that Jay can win his way to the end. There are a lot of really interesting dynamics moving forward, but for the time being we’d probably label David / Ken as the most dangerous purely because they’re the closest partnership in the game. There’s no reason for David to turn on Ken, and Ken won’t be turning on David.

Ultimately, we’re probably more excited for this finale than we’ve been for many other in some time. We really can’t call the winner this time, so kudos to the show’s editors for creating so much ambiguity.
