‘Scorpion’ season 3 spoilers: Could Paige’s mother set her up with Walter?

If there’s one thing we are learning from “Scorpion,” it is that this show does have a great thing going when it comes to its guest stars. With many other shows, you have a situation that comes out where you get to see them appear for maybe an episode or two — but then you’re stuck waiting for a good while before you get to see them again.

However, with this show we’ve seen via Tim Armstrong a willingness to have a recurring character stick around for a long time or potentially for good, depending on what happens moving forward this season. We’re also getting another episode of Lea Thompson as Paige’s mother Veronica on Monday’s new episode of “This Is the Pits,” and according to TVLine, these appearances will stretch over into 2017.

The sneak peek below showcases one of the character’s many purposes, as she proclaims herself excited to be able to use her powers of persuasion “for good,” something that she hasn’t quite done for much of her life. She’s also rather happy to be stepping into the role of Cupid for the purpose of helping to set up Walter with Paige. She gives him instructions on some of the things that she likes, thinking that it could lend him a helping hand.

To be fair, we understand the argument that maybe what Veronica is doing isn’t 100% great given that Paige is technically in a relationship with someone else, and we’re not quite sure she would appreciate this extremely level of meddling. After all, who really would? We do know that she’s acting with what she thinks are Paige’s best intentions at heart, and that will have to do for now.
