NCIS: New Orleans’ season 3, episode 8: Pride’s Team solves Navy band murder; Agent Lasalle’s secret discovered by Percy
On Tuesday night the viewers of “NCIS: New Orleans” got a taste of the city along with a thrilling ride to solve a crime. When a member of the prestigious United States Navy Band is murdered in her home, the sole witness was a child. He didn’t get a good look at his aunt’s killer, but he had clues that offered up a way to solve the murder. A prodigy trombone player, the young man revealed the man who attacked his killer had a unique ringtone and he could play it note-for-note just from hearing it a single time.
A touching story, the viewers were glued to their seats as they tried to unwind the story and determine who was the killer. Surprisingly, the killer’s motives weren’t as obvious as the team first hoped. Intertwined with another case, the case had to be carefully peeled away, layer by layer, until the real reason for the killing was discovered.
Looking like there was a mob connection after realizing the construction company was bringing in toxic dirt, the killer seemed to be the man under FBI investigation. Considered dangerous, the team stumbled upon a weapon, items from the victim’s home and motive. What made a big dent in the case was telephoning one of the witnesses to find out that he had the ringtone the young man heard.
Special circumstances had Special Agent Dwayne Pride stepping in and watching the young man who helped solved the case. Pride had to figure out the killer and take care of a victim’s nephew until she returns from her deployment, which showed his softer side and shared the true hospitality of the region.
The fans got to see the personal connections at the office. Special Agent Christopher LaSalle was in hot water with Special Agent Sonja Percy. The last to know about his son, Percy is offended that LaSalle didn’t trust telling her about the boy until she arrives at his home to pick LaSalle up from work. She was the last member of the team to learn about his secret.
Another arc of the episode had Agent Pride offering FBI Special Agent Tammy Gregorio a job to stay at NCIS and make New Orleans her home. She considered the offer, but had second thoughts at the last minute after hearing the same offer was extended to Forensic Scientist Sebastian Lund. Deciding to head back to Washington, Gregorio didn’t even stick around to have a holiday dinner with the NCIS team. It was a hard exit to watch and fans of NCIS hope she reconsiders.
