‘Christmas in Rockefeller Center’ lighting, Dolly Parton’s ‘The Voice’ performance, CW superhero crossover

NYC -

It’s hump day. Or as we see written on the calendar, Wednesday. Technically, if you are a superhero fan, it should be called “Work faster Wednesday”. Last night I was in line at the grocers and behind me a couple of folks were discussing an “alien invasion” that could cripple the town. It took a few minutes of eavesdropping to realize they weren’t tapping the bottle and their discussion had nothing to do with politics. In fact, these strangers had bonded in line over the CW superhero crossover event. What happens tonight on the CW is going to be the talk of the town (or should I say superhero community.)

Singing Christmas queen missing at ‘Christmas in Rockefeller Center’?

For the 84th time the crowds will gather as the tree lights up for the annual “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” ceremony. This year the NBC special will highlight a very tall from Norway spruce from Oneonta, New York. The event is always spectacular, but this year the queen of Christmas won’t be present. Of course I’m talking about Mariah Carey! The entertainer isn’t slated to share her Christmas songs this year, but views have already heard her amazing Christmas songs as she performed on the Disney special which aired on Thanksgiving Day.

Dolly Parton’s charm continues with new TV movie

On Wednesday night NBC is airing the next installment of the movie based on a song from Dolly Parton. “Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love” is said to be a continuation of the previous movie and viewers are excited. There are few stars of lately who have impacted the holiday season in contemporary times. The latest have included Mariah Carey, Disney and Elf on the Shelf, so there is room for Dolly Parton’s holiday story too.

The Voice” offers a new arrangement for “Jolene”

Who says you can’t talk about Dolly Parton twice in one day? I must! Her amazing performance with Miley Cyrus on “The Voice” last night deserves a shout out. Not only was the entire setting visually appealing, the song was off the chain. On Tuesday morning Carson Daly shared with LA listeners on his radio show that Dolly was rehearsing “Jolene” with Miley Cyrus, but he didn’t mention she was rearranging the entire song to include Pentatonix and offer a fresh listen. If you didn’t get the chance to check it out, take a peek at the video.

And finally… A ‘Napoleon Dynamite’ twist for a Burger King commercial

The fast food chain Burger King got the attention of the world for the return of their cheesy tots. Not because of the food per se, but because they brought back two main cast members of “Napoleon Dynamite.” Fans of the movie might get the urge to watch this classic hit once they check out the 30-second spot.
