Ratings: ‘Once Upon a Time’ recovers; ‘Madam Secretary,’ ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ just about steady

Rumple -We didn’t necessarily have the most robust television lineup under the sun this weekend, but we do like to still think that there are some ratings stories in here worth writing about.

ABC – Let’s start with “Once Upon a Time,” which managed to tick up to a 1.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic for its most-recent key episode, which made it clear that Rumpelstiltskin’s mother is the Black Fairy, someone we certainly want a substantial amount of backstory on as we continue to move further and further into the future.

We definitely foresee a “Once Upon a Time” renewal in the future, but it wouldn’t shock us by any means to learn that this said renewal is for the final season given that you still want the show to go out while making at least somewhat of an impact.

Meanwhile, elsewhere on the network “Secrets and Lies” and “Quantico” stayed reasonably steady at a 0.7 and 0.9 rating. In case you missed it overnight, it was announced that “Quantico” will be moving to Monday nights, and will be taking the place of “Conviction” in that spot starting on January 23.

CBS – There are a lot of alterations here because of football, but the latest “NCIS: Los Angeles” episode was just about steady with a 1.4 rating, while “Madam Secretary” (0.9) scored a very small decline.

Fox – There’s really not all that much to write about here other than the performance of a new “Bob’s Burgers,” which dropped down slightly to a 1.1 rating on the night — which really isn’t that bad given that there wasn’t much in the way of new programming around it.
