‘Secrets and Lies’ season 2 finale spoilers: ‘Who killed Kate Warner?’ finally revealed
There have been twists and turns aplenty on “Secrets and Lies” over the course of the entirety of the second season, but as we move forward into next week’s two-hour finale, there are many questions that still remain. Namely, we’re talking about the big one: Who killed Kate Warner, and why? We may have more information than before, but there are still more than likely a few twists and turns to come. There’s one thing in particular to remember: If someone is the main murder suspect at the start of an episode, the odds are not exactly that high that they will remain the main suspect by the time we get around to the end. This is the sort of show where we do consistently see a great deal of flux and change over time.
We’ve got the synopses for both of the final episodes this season below, and they make it clear that there are a wide array of different events coming both in the case and in Detective Cornell’s personal life.
“In the first hour, in the episode entitled “The Brother,” everywhere Eric turns, people are lying to him. One long-held secret and years of deceit leads to an explosive revelation that will change the Warner family forever. As the situation reaches a fever pitch, Eric makes a tragic admission about his past. And even though he claims not to know who killed Kate, it is becoming increasing clear to Detective Cornell who the murderer is, as the evidence mounts toward an arrest.
“In the second hour, in the episode entitled “The Truth,” Patrick grapples with his new reality, as Detective Cornell closes in on Kate’s killer, and the murderer is finally exposed. Meanwhile, Danny frantically continues his search for his daughter, hoping to get one more chance to be a real dad. However, in the end, it is Cornell that faces a devastating surprise.”
As for whether or not these episodes will prove themselves to be the last episode of the series as a whole, signs point to “possibly.” The ratings for season 2 are far from great, and given that we’re likely getting a fitting end to the story in the finale, there may not be a need to continue the show on unless there’s a really great story.
