‘The Flash’ season 3, episode 7 video: Show boss on Caitlin’s Killer Frost transition
We met Caitlin Snow even before the official pilot for “The Flash” aired on The CW; meanwhile, last season we met Killer Frost for the first time over on Earth-2.
So who are we getting to meet now? Think along the lines of Caitlin Frost! That may sound weird, but that is the focus of the new sneak peek below from Tuesday night’s new episode, as you’re going to see Danielle Panabaker’s character slowly start to become the character. Executive producer Todd Helbing notes that “Caitlin Frost” really is the right name for her right now simply because of the fact that some of her powers are starting to expand, and it’s distorting her mind. Yet, at the same time, Caitlin Snow is still inside her, and she’s got the ability to control her powers if she fights its enough.
Unfortunately, it is going to become difficult for her the more that she uses her powers, and it certainly looks like she’s going to be using them plenty. At one point, it could even mean going on the offensive against Barry Allen! Given that he doesn’t want to hurt someone he considers to be one of his best friends, this will probably end up being one of the most intense showdowns that we’ve seen on the series to date.
When it comes to seeing Caitlin having her world completely rocked to the point that she is no longer herself, we’re absolutely devastated for her. However, at the same time there is something really awesome about finally getting to see this sort of story air. It’s something we’ve been looking forward to ever since we learned that Caitlin was going to be a part of the show, and while Earth-s2 Killer Frost was cool, we don’t have any real investment in her.
