‘Timeless’ spoilers: ‘Mr. Robot’ actor cast as Harry Houdini
Ready to see someone cast a spell on you on NBC’s “Timeless“? Well, we now have learned for certain who will be playing famed Magic Man Harry Houdini on the show’s upcoming World’s Fair-themed episode.
According to a report from TVLine, Michael Drayer — who you otherwise know from playing Cisco on USA’s “Mr. Robot” — will be appearing in the episode as a younger version of the character. This is before he had international fame, and was still largely an amateur in the world of magic. He won’t be fully-formed just yet, but that shouldn’t stop the character from being able to help out Lucy, Rufus, and Wyatt, in the event that they are in a jam.
This episode will be set in 1893 in Chicago, and we’ve learned already that you are going to be seeing an appearance in here from H.H. Holmes, one of the first notorious serial killers on American soil. Just in case taking on Garcia Flynn was not enough for some of these characters, they’ll have their hands full with him, as well. As a whole, the episode seems fun, largely because this seems to fulfill one of the ideas that Shawn Ryan and Eric Kripke entered the series with: Finding the right places and times where our heroes can act with notable people without having to shoehorn people in places where they wouldn’t otherwise be.
There is a new episode of “Timeless” coming up on NBC tonight, but it will feature the characters all the way back before America scored its independence from Great Britain. If you head over to the link here, you can see a promo for that!
We’ll be back later tonight with a review of this new episode. For now, share what you think about this casting in the comments! (Photo: NBC.)
