‘Saturday Night Love’ music: The xx perform ‘On Hold’
“Saturday Night Live” hasn’t necessarily done this on a regular occasion so far this season, but we do really like it when they make some sort of concentrated effort to bring on board musical talent we’re not altogether familiar with. It’s a chance for them to provide a significant boost to someone’s career, and at the same time, we also feel like there’s a good chance that they won’t be so jaded about the experience and just have a good time.
Tonight, we were very much excited to learn a little bit more about The xx, who started off the show with a performance of a really great song known as “On Hold.” This is a song that is really brand new, given that the band just started releasing official videos for it online a little over a week ago. It also is very catchy and shows precisely what they are capable of in terms of instrumental work.
For those who don’t know much about the band, The xx originally hails from England, and actually has been a part of the indie scene for several years now before starting to break out more internationally as of late. They’ve got a wide array of eclectic music, so we’re excited to see what they’re bringing to the table next.
The second song is one that we admittedly don’t know much about, and couldn’t find a lot about online. If there is a little more information about it online tomorrow, we’ll be sure to update this article with more information then. We’ll at least say that we enjoyed it, and found the flow of it in particular to be intoxicating.
