‘Once Upon a Time’ season 6, episode 9 photo: A Belle – Rumpelstiltskin standoff?

While there may not be a new episode of “Once Upon a Time” airing on ABC until we get around to November 27, who says that we can’t still take a minute to share one of the latest photo sneak peeks of what is coming up?

The image above is from the upcoming episode entitled “Changelings,” and we certainly do continue to feel as though this could be one of the most important episodes of the season, especially for this relationship between Belle and Rumpelstiltskin. The last time that these two characters were around each other, it was pretty clear that they were not on particularly good terms. She effectively was so worried for the future of her unborn child that she was willing to do whatever she could to keep him away. Meanwhile, he was so intent on the opposite that he was willing to torment Belle in order to ensure that he still had control.

Whatever happens moving forward now could dictate the future of the child, and also if there’s ever a hope that these two could somehow be together. We’ve always said that when these two are on the best terms, there is no better couple within the “Once Upon a Time” universe. Unfortunately, we do worry at this point that there is such a backlog of terrible things that we’ve had a chance to witness Rumple do over the years that it is increasingly hard to imagine these two ever having anything resembling a happy ending. He has to find a way to express forgiveness and mean it — the latter is what he tends to struggle with.

In general, you should also prepare for some emotional flashback stories, as well, given that this will give you more insight into why Rumple hates fairies as much as he does.
