‘The Amazing Race’ scores Critics’ Choice nod while we await season 29 premiere date
We’ve been doing our part to post some sort of “Amazing Race“-related story almost every Friday for the past several weeks, mostly because of one simple reason: We don’t want anyone to forget about the show during its hiatus. While we do air out our frustrations on it occasionally, there is still no other program out there quite like it. It’s fast-paced, it’s thrilling, and it actually shows America more of the world while we spend so much time isolated within our own little bubbles.
What we’re here to do today is bestow some rather-great news that should remind CBS why they should announce a premiere date for season 29 soon: The show’s got another nomination from an awards show! As the tweet below reveals from the network, it was nominated at the Critics’ Choice Awards taking place later this year in the Reality Competition Show category. You can see the full list of nominees here.
Typically, we’d say that this show getting yet another nomination is hardly a big deal, given that it’s received so many of them over the course of time that you almost take them for granted. It’s a little different when the show’s not even on the air at the moment; it makes you want to be grateful for just about every bit of love that the show can possibly receive, and it’s that nice little bump of publicity.
In our heart of hearts, we do hope that the long layoff for the show this time around made more people miss it, and when it comes back it’ll get higher ratings. If it helps keep the show on the air longer, we’d be fine with just watching one season per year.
If you do find yourself interested in getting some other news when it comes to “The Amazing Race,” be sure to head over to the link here right now! Hopefully, you’re aware now that we’ll continue to have further updates all about the show the moment that they become available. (Photo: CBS.)
