‘The X Factor’ UK: Honey G under fire (again) — this time for drugs controversy

Stop us when this one sounds familiar — there are a lot of people out there who want to see Honey G kicked off “The X Factor,” and this time around, many of them feel as though they’ve got a greater reason beyond just that they’re not much of a fan of her performances.

According to a new report now over on the Mirror, the controversy began when Honey recently said that she taken a number of class A drugs in the past including cocaine, and that she still recreationally uses marijuana. However, she has denied every taking any drugs while on the show and in the famous house.

Of course, with this comes claims that Honey G be booted from the show right away because of the fact that she is not a proper role model — yet, at the same time, when was she a proper role model? Can we ever consider that to be the case? Why would you want someone out there looking up to a singing-show contestant who has such controversy around her already? We figure that the only reason this would be considered is because there was that montage recently of her visiting a school, which did air on a recent episode of the show.

Still, we understand that the show’s gotta do what they can in order to investigate the claims, and that’s apparently what they did per a recent statement on the subject:

“We have spoken to Honey and she has assured us that she has not taken drugs while being on the show.”

Is this altogether reassuring for many fans of the show out there? Probably not, but we ultimately think Honey G will be gone before the final five anyway. It’ll be more satisfying to us to see her eliminated than having her be booted off the show because of the demands of some people who are upset.
