‘American Horror Story: Roanoke’ episode 9 preview: ‘We’re not pretending anymore’
Tonight, “American Horror Story” brought us an episode once again full of death and terrifying moments, proving once more than this may be one of the few iterations of this franchise that is actually focusing on the scares more so than anything else. We also saw the most notable death arguably of the entire season, as we ended up losing the original Shelby played by Lily Rabe. We considered her going into this one of the most-likely contenders to stay alive … which is probably in turn why she’s dead. Ryan Murphy’s cruel like that.
The preview that aired tonight following all of the craziness failed to give away anything in terms of clear events that are going to unfold. Yet, what we do know is that Audrey and Lee, two of the only survivors still immersed in all of the craziness, are going to do their best to figure out a way to get back to civilization while also trying to convince everyone at the same time that what they encountered was in fact real — every part of it. That may not be easy, but if they have any trouble, might we suggest pointing them towards either the brutal murder scene of the farm or back to the house? It shouldn’t be all that tough.
Given that the footage hints that only one person makes it out of the madness alive, our assumption for now is that we’re losing Lee. Why? Sarah Paulson has a wonderful habit of always being one of the last people standing in many seasons. We’re always going to be bank on her, or Audrey in this case.
One thing that we will remind you of yet again here is that there is supposedly one more twist to the formula coming in the finale airing later this month, so when you are watching next week’s episode, do so with the expectation that there could be an opportunity for matters to shift and evolve once more.
