‘Bones’ season 12 spoilers: Stephen Fry to reprise role as Gordon Wyatt
For all fans of “Bones,” rejoice! We’ve got yet another return appearance set for a beloved franchise favorite.
In a new post on Twitter, star David Boreanaz made it clear that we would be seeing the legendary Stephen Fry back for at least one more appearance on the twelfth season, where he would be bringing back the role of Gordon Wyatt. He’s a man who first appeared in season 2 as a forensic psychiatrist, but eventually retired and entered culinary school. Now, he may be the second-most famous chef on Fox who goes by the name Gordon.
While we cannot exactly say why we’re seeing Gordon now, let’s just say that we’re happy for it. Fry’s a perpetually-busy man, and we say this even more so now that he is starring on another network show in “The Great Indoors” over on CBS. Getting to have him appear here is a blessing, and something that Fox / the producers should be grateful to have. He’s one of many notable names stopping by now, as the roster includes Eric Millegan, Betty White, and Eddie McClintock. More than likely, some other names are going to be announced before the series wraps, and they’re just being saved for the time being to build up the excitement.
We’d be fine if almost every episode of “Bones” from here on out proved itself to be some sort of epic tribute to a past season or guest star. We’re not quite sure that we’re going to be that lucky, but we’ll take what the show gives us. At least the producers are aware that twelve seasons are an enormous achievement that should be celebrated in any shape or form. Bringing back notable guest stars is just one way to make that happen.
