‘The Bachelor’ spoilers: How tough is Nick Viall’s season?

Nick Viall is still in the process of filming this current season of “The Bachelor,” but there are (of course) many questions already on one key subject: Precisely how he is holding up as the star of the show. You have to remember here that this is an experience that is very emotional as presented on TV. Sure, there are some moments of romance, but at the same time we also have a tendency to see plenty of meltdowns and then ultimately, maybe a glimmer of hope at the end.

Show host Chris Harrison is of course someone who’s been there to see both the good and bad of the experience, so speaking to Mario Lopez in a new “On with Mario Lopez” interview (per Us Weekly), he had the following to say:

“I will say — a little inside baseball because we’re in the middle of taping right now — he hit a little low point, as all of the Bachelors do … You kind of reach this emotional bottom where you get stripped down. If you know what a Mesnick is, I will let you know that he pulled a full Mesnick. There will be man tears on this season for sure.”

So how is Harrison able to do press while the show is filming? Well, a big part of that is just a reminder that he’s not around for every second of the day on these things. As a matter of fact, he’s probably around for less overall time than any host on any other reality show out there. Learning that Nick gets emotional is no surprise at all, given that Nick was emotional when he was on both Andi Dorfman and Kaitlyn Bristowe’s seasons.
