‘Shiptober: Should ‘Suits’ season 6 give us Louis, Tara wedding?

Mrs. Carter: Is it possible that “Suits” could have multiple weddings this season?

While we don’t necessarily classify this show as a romance per se, there are these undercurrents that run through it, and few of them make us quite as happy as Louis Litt and Tara Messer. Carly Pope’s character surfaced early on in the season as a business architect who Louis roped in under false pretenses, but eventually his romantic gestures won her over. While the two had some hurdles to jump through, whether it be her other relationship or eventually the revelation that she was pregnant, eventually much of that was settled in the summer finale and he asked her to be his wife. It was a nice culmination to this character’s journey, especially since he hasn’t always been the easiest character to root for in the early days. Yet, that was intentional, and over time we’ve peeled back the layers and seen precisely what sort of man Louis is at his core.

So could we see this wedding coming up in the near future? We certainly think there’s a good case for it that stems from the fact that he is often fairly impulsive when it comes to things that he wants. If he knows he wants to be with Tara, and she also wants to be with him, it wouldn’t exactly shock us to see him go ahead and walk down the nearest aisle with her. It would certainly been in contrast to Mike and Rachel, who’ve been waiting until season 5 to have a wedding happen.

As for for the case against it, you can easily argue that there are some other issues that the two characters will need to work through. Most notably, we do wonder how Joshua, the father of this said child, is going to feel about all of this. Nothing in Louis’ life tends to come easy, so there are plenty of hurdles you can throw at him before giving us a wedding in the seventh season. This is a show that still has some time.
