’24: Legacy’: Kiefer Sutherland opens up about role
Early next year, “24: Legacy” is going to be getting the much-coveted timeslot following the Super Bowl, and of course with that there will be a wide array of various expectations for what we could be seeing from it. Just remember for a minute here that you’ve got a rebooted version of the original show, and while there are probably going to be a wide-array of people super-receptive to the idea, there are probably also going to be many others who aren’t as keen on giving it a chance. Therefore, you really have to brace yourself for almost anything and everything that could be coming up.
One thing that people on the fence really should know at present is that the original series star in Kiefer Sutherland is still involved as an executive producer, and he’s also still very much optimistic about its future. Speaking in a new interview to TV Guide, he did his part to offer up as big of an endorsement as possible on the new show:
“My job on the new ’24’ has been to be a sounding board to some ideas for Howard Gordon. I think they’ve done an incredible job casting it, and the first couple of episodes are fantastic. I’ve always believed very strongly that the star of 24 was the idea … I hope people give it a chance, and I’ll be one of the first in line to watch it.”
We’re still not writing off a possibility of Sutherland appearing as Jack at some point during the series. While it may be very much unlikely given his schedule and work on “Designated Survivor,” this to us doesn’t feel like the sort of thing he would really want to announce in advance, anyway.
