‘Pretty Little Liars’ series finale to be followed by hour-long special; Lucy Hale, Ashley Benson, cast to appear

Clearly, Freeform wants to do everything within their power in order to properly ensure that “Pretty Little Liars” has a chance to walk into the sunset in the best possible way.

Following the upcoming series finale (currently wrapping up filming this coming spring), Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell, and Sasha Pieterse are all going to be appearing for a special that will also feature creator Marlene King and promise to include a wide array of different reveals regarding everything that we saw happen over the course of the series’ run. There will be reactions to the episode, behind-the-scenes info, and other retrospectives more than likely.

While it doesn’t seem as though this will be live like many other aftershows out there, it may be a nice way for the cast and crew to put a pin in what is hopefully going to be an epic television event. This show not only was a sensation for the network and brought them new-found attention and recognition, it also changed the lives of all of the women who took part. We don’t quite know as of yet what the future will hold for some of the aforementioned women, we do think that some will get to spend the winter and the spring fielding potential offers for other shows. We’re sure that one or two will look towards movies, but we hope to see them in other shows down the line. Nothing else will generate the same sort of connection with your audience, and they’d be thought of as an asset by any network looking to hire them.

We’re going to have more news as we get closer to the finale airing, but get ready for an emotional, surprising affair when this story airs.
