‘Timeless’ episode 5 preview: Remembering ‘The Alamo’

Timeless -So far on NBC’s “Timeless,” we’ve had a chance to see our team in America, Germany, and across several different centuries of history. The show’s had its share of serious moments, but we do think that it shines the most when we get a chance to see these characters really work hard to embrace the era and have a good time with it.

With that in mind, we have to say already that we’re stoked to see next week’s new episode entitled “The Alamo.” We’re someone who grew up in Texas, and of course as a result of that we heard stories aplenty all about the famous battle. We’ve even visited the place before, which is something that we cannot really say about anywhere else we’re getting a chance to visit on the series. We’re sure that the show’s adaptation is going to have its fair share of fun moments, but based on what we’re seeing / hearing about right now, it also definitely appears that there will be a fair share of pretty-serious drama, as well

Synopsis – “After one member’s fired from the team, Flynn (Goran Višnjic) returns to a pivotal event in the war over Texas-the Battle of the Alamo. Our team finds themselves stranded inside the famous fort, surrounded by Mexican soldiers, knowing that everyone inside is fated to die. Now, with no hope of rescue and facing insurmountable odds, the trio of heroes learns the meaning of trust and sacrifice from people prepared to die for those around them.”

Once again, we presume (like with the assassination of Abraham Lincoln) that this is going to be one of those parts of history that there will be such an obvious temptation to try and change. After all, why wouldn’t you want to? The unfortunate reality here is that doing this would really set off so many chain reactions, given that you’re talking about such an enormous, life-altering moment in time.
