‘Supernatural’ season 12, episode 3 preview: The story for Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles in ‘The Foundry’

Supernatural season 12 episode 20For those of you out there that dig “Supernatural” when you’ve got the boys working together on a creepy case-of-the-week, all superficial signs suggest that you’ll enjoy next week’s new episode entitled “The Foundry.” It’s a chance to see a crying baby turn into a shocking case, and one that will give Sam and Dean (now reunited) a chance to do a little bit more of what they do best with their mother in tow. Who doesn’t love a family that hunts together?

As for whether or not they’ll all get along over the course of said episode, that’s an entirely different story.

Synopsis – “When a crying baby leads to death in a mysterious abandoned house, Mary (guest star Samantha Smith), Sam (Jared Padelicki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) decide to investigate. Meanwhile, Castiel’s (Misha Collins) hunt for Lucifer (guest star Rick Springfield) leads him, begrudgingly, to partner up with Crowley (Mark A. Sheppard).”

What makes this episode exciting to us beyond everything that we said above is the thought of great storytelling for the likes of Castiel and Lucifer. After all, they’ve shown themselves to have a great back-and-forth over time, so any chance to see them have to work together is a chance for almost-instant goodness.

Promo – This is all sorts of creepy! If you like the show when it’s a little more terrifying, than this could be the episode for you. Unfortunately, this feels like a horror trailer so much (tons of quick cuts) that there’s not really much of an opportunity for you to learn a substantial amount about the story. Hopefully, there’ll be something a little more substantial next week.
