‘Legends of Tomorrow’ season 2, episode 3 preview: Citizen Steel and ‘Shogun’
There are several things that remain exciting about “Legends of Tomorrow” as a series, and one of them to us is rather simple: This is a show that does not hold back when it comes to celebrate the whole “anywhere / any time” mission statement. We’ve seen this show travel back to the era of the dinosaurs, while at the same time we’ve also seen them go far into the future in order to battle Vandal Savage.
As someone who studied a little bit of Japanese history while in university, there’s an inherent excitement on our part in seeing what the show is doing in the era. If you add to that Nick getting powers (Citizen Steel!), some potentially-great battles, and also more of Rory in the spotlight, what’s not to like? This episode on paper sounds like it’ll be a lot of fun.
Synopsis – “Nate (Nick Zano) is shocked to learn that he has powers but then accidentally lands himself and Ray (Brandon Routh) in Feudal Japan. After Sara (Caity Lotz) convinces their stowaway Amaya (Maisie Richardson-Sellers), AKA Vixen, that Rory (Dominic Purcell) is not a murderer, they all agree to find Nate and help him master his powers in order to defend the Japanese village from the Shogun and his army of samurai warriors. Meanwhile, Jax (Franz Drameh) and Stein (Victor Garber) stay back to help fix the ship and find a secret compartment but decide not to tell the rest of the team what they learn.”
The thing we’re the most interested in with this episode is the whole “secret compartment” aspect of it. after all, why keep these secrets at this point? It never ends well, and it almost always leads to tension down the line. We have to think that this is something that could be coming up once more down the road.
