Ratings: ‘Bull’ levels off; ‘No Tomorrow’ recovers; ‘This Is Us’ defeats ‘The Voice’ again

The ratings for Tuesday night aren’t full of some of the big swings that we’ve seen out there as of late, but the good news from our vantage point is still clear: There’s a heck of a not of stuff still worth talking about!

The good news – After spending the past couple of episodes in decline, “Bull” (1.6) over on CBS was relatively steady in the 18-49 demographic. The same goes for “NCIS” (1.8) with the return of Duane Henry as Clayton Reeves. “The Flash” (1.0) was reasonably steady, and its timeslot companion “No Tomorrow” (0.3) improved slightly after getting adjusted down to a pretty woeful rating last week. Hopefully, that doesn’t happen again here.

While “This Is Us” (2.6) suffered a small decline this week, we’re still giving it praise for being the #1 show on the night, toppling “The Voice” (2.4) for the second straight week. For a show without any huge stars without some sort of franchise attached to it, we cannot stress how impressive that really is.

The bad news – It wasn’t a great night for the folks over at ABC, given that every single one of their comedies was down more than 10% from the prior episode, while “Agents of SHIELD” (0.8) also fell. It’s definitely a bummer to see the show really improve and make a big risk this year with Ghost Rider, only to not really see any huge impact for this said move in the ratings. It’s ultimately rather hard here to know what viewers are looking for from it, other than that challenging storylines from the past few seasons has hurt it in a pretty big way.

Meanwhile, “Scream Queens” (0.9) stayed low while “Chicago Fire” (1.7) dropped slightly — but we figure they’re probably still okay with this performance.
