‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 4, episode 5 preview: Robbie struggles to contain Ghost Rider

The further that we make it into “Agents of SHIELD” season 4, the more that one thing starts to become clear: Robbie Reyes has a clear problem with the Spirit of Vengeance. He knows that it is a curse upon him, and as this season progresses further and further along, it becomes increasingly apparent that this is not something that he can fully control. He’s going to become more and more dangerous, and as we near his origin-story episode a little later this month, we’re going to learn more about his present-day dilemma in the process.

“Lockup” is the title for the next new installment of the series, and of course we’ve got a little more information regarding what is coming up.

Synopsis – “As Robbie Reyes struggles to control The Ghost Rider, S.H.I.E.L.D. infiltrates a high-security prison to unravel the secrets that haunt them all.”

Yeah, it’s not giving us a whole lot to go on here, but we do love the usage of the word “haunt” given that we are approaching Halloween.

Promo – We do think that this is significantly more illuminating, at least in terms of highlighting what some of the specific danger and threats are for the team moving forward. There’s clearly going to be some more challenges coming up, and to go along with that, more of the supernatural. The show is continuing to venture more and more into the “Doctor Strange” territory that was allowed following the arrival of Ghost Rider, and with that movie still coming, we don’t see them moving away from it for at least the next few weeks. Even if there is no literal crossover with the movie, we’re at least exploring similar ground.
