‘The Fosters’ season 4 winter premiere date announced; ‘Switched at Birth’ season 5 pushed one week
Want to know when “The Fosters” is coming back on the air? We assumed that it was going to be at some point in January, and we’re rather pleased to find out via Freeform that this is officially the case.
Today, the network confirmed that the second half of the upcoming fourth season is going to be premiering on Tuesday, January 31 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern, which moves it into the timeslot previously occupied by “Pretty Little Liars” during the winter months. The final episodes of that show will come on the network at some point in April.
Meanwhile, “The Fosters” will be followed by “Switched at Birth” at 9:00. This show is premiering a week later than originally expected, with is something that creator Lizzy Weiss touched on in a new post on Twitter. Clearly, somebody thought it would be okay to make everyone wait for another week given that the majority of fans have been waiting forever to begin with. What’s another week tacked on to the end of it? “Switched at Birth” is going to be airing its final stretch of episodes, which is exciting mostly in that Bay and Daphne are going to have some sort of fitting, proper end to their story.
These premiere dates join the previously-announced “Shadowhunters” and “Beyond,” which are going to be starting off on Monday, January 2; in the case of “Beyond,” it’s going to be getting a special two-hour series premiere in hopes of kicking things off in the best way possible. Once we get closer to all of these premieres, we’re sure that Freeform will have some additional information — which we’ll be rather thrilled to be able to provide.
