‘Prison Break’ revival: Wentworth Miller open to more
The bad news for all fans of “Prison Break” is that we’re still many months away from the revival coming on the air via Fox. Yet, at the same time, we suppose that there should just be a certain degree of gratitude with the fact that it is happening in the first place. At this point a couple of years ago, we never imagined that this is something that would be coming.
Speaking in a new interview with Digital Spy, Wentworth Miller let some other exciting news drop in that feasibly, he may be interested in doing a little bit more down the road:
“The reboot is nine new episodes airing in spring 2017, and then depending on how it’s received, and who’s available, there could be another conversation about another bite of the apple. We’ll see…”
We figure that the ratings for the revival will be solid based on the popularity of the original and also the many different ways in which the show can now be consumed. Our feeling is that it would be great to see more of the show, but at the same time you don’t want to exploit it to such an extent that it’s no longer anywhere as compelling as it once was. See how this version of the series goes, and then take a moment to see what lies on the other side.
Just to add to the excitement of it all, Miller also gave one other tease to the website regarding the story:
“I can tell you it’s seven years later, and you can expect a lot more of the same things that you loved first time around. And it will also be quite different as the characters have changed, so my character in particular is no longer just a hero – he’s a few other things as well. I think the fans will get a kick out of it.”
Trust us: Once there’s more news on this revival, we’ll have it for you! We like to think that we’re every bit as excited about this as anyone else. (Photo: Fox.)
