‘Royal Pains’ alum Mark Feuerstein joins ‘Wet Hot American Summer’ ‘sequel’ on Netflix

It was several months ago when Netflix first announced that they would be doing a follow-up project to “Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp,” one that would feature the main characters ten years older than they were at the time of the original movie. Not much was said sense … at least until now.

Per a report from Deadline, Mark Feuerstein, coming off of eight years of playing Hank on “Royal Pains,” will be one of the new stars of the show playing the part of a friendly, smart guy who was supposedly always a part of the group who was at camp — but apparently was not interesting enough to be included. (These sort of meta jokers are what the movie / series are for.) Since camp, he has become a successful businessman and is in love.

For the time being, Netflix has not confirmed the roster of performers for the new project (currently entitled “Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later”), but our hope is that as many stars from the movie as possible will be there. If a few don’t turn up, it is fairly reasonable to write them out by saying that not everyone would want to attend a summer-camp reunion. Even with that said, remember that Bradley Cooper filmed the entirety of his scenes from “First Day of Camp” in basically a day because he was so busy running around and doing film projects. With a massive cast, this is a project that can really work scheduling magic to include almost everyone.

Hopefully, we’ll have some more news on “Ten Years Later” moving into later this year. While we don’t necessarily think the prequel series matches the joy of the movie, it still is incredibly funny and well worth the price of admission (which we suppose is a Netflix subscription for people who don’t have one).
