‘The Flash’ season 3 spoilers: Exec on arrival of Caitlin’s mom

At the end of this past episode of “The Flash,” we did learn some rather exciting news when it comes to Caitlin Snow: She could be transforming into Killer Frost after all! While we cannot imagine this version of the character becoming a full-fledged supervillain at any point in the near future, we do think her trying to contend with her new powers will prove itself to be rather difficult.

What could add to the chaos for the character moving forward is the presence of her mother, who we’ve learned is someone she did not have the best relationship in the world with. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly on the subject, executive producer Todd Helbing made it clear precisely what sort of story we could have with this character when she turns up:

“You’ve heard snippets throughout the show so far of how her mom is pretty cold … When you meet her, you’ll understand exactly what Caitlin has been talking about and exactly how their dynamic works. You can see how that’s had a long-term effect on Caitlin.”

As for whether or not we get more on this Killer Frost before this character turns up, that remains to be seen. The CW is doing a very good job keeping details on this particular subject under wraps, and that’s for good reason. After all, they know that curiosity is high in learning a thing or two more regarding what this Caitlin will be like with powers. It’s the sort of thing that you don’t even need to set up much in the press, mostly because it feels like plenty of people are going to be watching either way to see what happens.
