‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 4, episode 3 review: The Watchdogs’ threat; May’s revival

In what should be no surprise to anyone out there who are fans of “Agents of SHIELD,” there is a war going down between humans and Inhumans. Some, including key members of the government, want them eradicated from the earth or confined in some way from impacting humanity. The timing of this story is more than likely no coincidence.

Unfortunately for the group, Tuesday’s episode proved itself all the more difficult, as blackouts in major cities led some to blame Inhumans. In fact, it was actually the Watchdogs who were more to blame. This organization certainly seemed to be against the idea of anything different, and they are also looking at becoming global. Jeffrey Mace a.k.a. the new Director did his part to enforce to the public that it was “extremists” who were behind the attack, and more so than that, he made it very clear to the public that SHIELD was back. We have a feeling that their impact as a public organization is going to be huge moving forward.

Here’s where the bad news lies for SHIELD: This whole effort has not turned around Senator Nadir, whose brother appears to be frozen. She may be the leader of the anti-Inhuman charge, and given that she’s an intellectual threat, she has to be considered one of the most dangerous adversaries we’ve see on the show yet.

Daisy’s revelation – After getting to know Ghost Rider better, she then realized something else: Her brother was not a fan. He knew a lot about her, and he knew a lot that could potentially damage her. It is for that reason that he was able to send a pretty clear threat in her way: If he doesn’t steer clear of Robbie Reyes, he would spill the beans on who she is.

May’s back – After looking for a few minutes in this episode like she was serious going to die, the great news is that she’s back and seemingly back to her old self … or so we hope. You never quite know with this show, but this was our happy moment to offset much of the terrible stuff going down elsewhere — and there was a lot of that in this episode. Grade: B.
