‘Masters of Sex’ season 4, episode 6 preview: Can Bill, Virginia get back on track?

At its core, “Masters of Sex” is a series about the complicated relationship between Bill Masters and Virginia Johnson, so eventually, it does make some sense for the show to dive into that a little bit more than they have in season 4. They’ve definitely touched on it multiple times, but countless distractions have popped up and gotten in the way.

Well, that tradition is going to continue moving into next week’s new installment entitled “Family Only,” at least based on the information that we have. He will be looking at other places for attention, while elsewhere some other notable pairs prepare for either some great news … or potentially the worst news, depending on who you are.

Synopsis (via TV Guide) – “Johnson looks to get her relationship with Masters back on track, but Masters does his best to find satisfaction elsewhere. Meanwhile, Betty and Helen ready themselves for a new addition; and Art and Nancy discuss the consequences of their party.”

Promo – Below, you can get a little bit of a better sense as to what Johnson in particular is looking for from Masters, and how she plans to go about getting it. Unfortunately for her, Bill is still hesitant to broach revisiting any old ideas — but can he be convinced otherwise? Also, be prepared to see Libby, who continues to have a fantastic story this season, go on a little trip.

(Side note: It’s a shame that so many viewers out there seem to remain frustrated over some of the misses in season 3, from the gorilla fiasco to the storylines regarding the children. By and large, we’d say that season 4 so far is a vast improvement on what came before.)
